10 Tips to Build Better Mental Health

Ever feel overwhelmed by life? 


We’re sure most people — from time to time — have felt engulfed by life in varying ways. (And if you haven’t…can we get some of your secrets, please?)


In a world where we have 24/7 access to news and the world of social media, it’s easy to feel the pressure of life on us. 

 
And that can become daunting to our mental health. 

 
Because your wellness is important to us (not just your skincare) — here are 10 tips to build better mental health! 


10 Tips to Build Better Mental Health  

1. TALK TO SOMEONE 

Whether that be a therapist, your best friend or a tree in the middle of nowhere — talking it out can help you feel not so alone, and it gets everything out that is bottled up inside you. 

Oftentimes when we release what we’ve been holding onto for a while, we immediately feel better. Kind of like when you have a vent session with your BFF, and you feel 20 pounds lighter after that conversation. 



2. MOVE YOUR BODY 

Join a gym, find a YouTube channel you like, go for a leisure (or brisk) walk outside (and take in the Pueblo Riverwalk scenery) or throw on some of your favorite tunes and dance your heart away. 

Chemicals that are beneficial for your mental health release when you move your body and can help transform feelings of stress and anxiety. Go get your sweat on! 


3. CREATE A HEALTHY LIFESTYLE 

Don’t feel so good after you eat a particular food? Pay attention to what your body likes and doesn’t like and incorporate more of what it does like into your daily life. 


You don’t have to change everything at once — just add in one healthy lifestyle change at a time and watch your body thank you. 


4. BUILD YOUR VILLAGE 

Find your people (family, friends, mental health professionals, etc.) and make them part of your village. When you know you have people in your corner it takes the pressure off of feeling like you’re doing life alone. 



5. WRITE IT OUT 

Don’t want to talk to a therapist, or vent to your friend? Grab a journal and let it all out there. The paper can take it, trust us. 
6. KNOW YOURSELF 

Are you an introvert that feels like you should act like an extrovert? Drop the “shoulds” in life and embrace who you are and find the resources to support your unique qualities — even if that means staying in and watching Downtown Abbey over an evening out. 
7. SELF-CARE LIKE IT’S YOUR JOB 

What do you need to fill your mental, physical and emotional cup up? If you don’t know — experiment! 

Does a bath help to ease the stress of the day? Does tea help you feel grounded? Whatever it is, incorporate more of it into your self-care!


8. KARAOKE ANYONE? 

We know music has the ability to change a mood, so what if you put on some feel-good music and belted out some tunes at the top of your lungs (karaoke bar optional)? At the very least, you’ll have moved your body. 



9. GRATITUDE IS THE ATTITUDE

Sometimes we need a reframe of our thoughts — especially if we’re going down a negative spiral. 

When we choose to take time to appreciate what we do have in our life, it can foster an attitude of gratitude to help remind us of everything we’re not seeing in the moment. 



10. REACH OUT 

When we feel low, reaching out to volunteer can help us step outside of ourselves for a moment and see life through a new lens. Volunteer at an animal shelter, or soup kitchen, or extend help to your neighbor(s). This can also help to cultivate more gratitude!

So, what is IV therapy, exactly? Let’s find out… What Is IV Therapy? IV (stands for intravenous) Therapy can deliver vitamins, minerals, medication, and fluids through an IV drip. What Is IV Therapy Used For? IV Therapy is used to deliver much-needed fluids to the body.
