As a society—and especially as women—we tend to place ourselves last and end up paying the price for it.


Exhaustion and fatigue become our best friends and we end up wondering, “How did I get here?”

When we try to understand how we got to the place of utter fatigue—lack of self-care is usually part of that answer.

What Is Self-Care?

Self-care is the act of taking care of your physical, mental and emotional health.

That includes doing things that will fill you up, not deplete you.


And self-care that nourishes you is crucial for a healthy mind, body, and spirit.

Between maintaining relationships, taking care of your family, and nurturing your career, it can feel like some days you’re barely keeping your head above water.


That’s why self-care is important and can help you cope with the stressors of life and work towards being as healthy as possible—whatever comes your way.



How To Make Self-Care A Priority

#1 — DECIDE WHAT SELF-CARE IS TO YOU

Yes, self-care nourishes your mental, physical and emotional health, but what does that mean to you?

Maybe you want to move your body more.

Maybe you want to spend a Saturday morning with yourself.

Maybe you want to begin therapy.

Whatever you think will nourish you is where you’ll want to begin your self-care journey. 



#2 — MAKE SELF-CARE TIME NON-NEGOTIABLE 

You know how your partner and kids know you have to go to work every morning? 

Let’s enact that same non-negotiable with self-care + begin to keep one simple promise to yourself. 


Speak to those close to you about your non-negotiable self-care time. 

For example, if you want every Saturday morning from 9am – 12pm to yourself, let your loved ones know you’d appreciate their support in keeping that promise to yourself. 
    


#3 — SELF-CARE IDEAS 

If you think this is all sounds great but need ideas around ways to take care of you, here’s a list to get you started. 

• Movement (find out what physical exercise speaks to you and start moving)

• Sleep Health (get yourself some zzz’s and a routine)

• Food Health (start with adding one healthy item and keep going)

• Boundaries (create these for the health of your relationships and learn to say “no”)   

• Spa Time (we’re biased, but a one-hour facial or massage can do wonders for your overall health)

  

Bonus Tip: When considering your self-care, a question to ask yourself is — “What would Future _____ (insert your name) thank me for?”

So, what is IV therapy, exactly? Let’s find out… What Is IV Therapy? IV (stands for intravenous) Therapy can deliver vitamins, minerals, medication, and fluids through an IV drip. When this method is used to administer through the veins, your body receives what it needs in the bloodstream quickly and has a better rate (almost 90%) of absorption versus oral administration (about 50%). What Is IV Therapy Used For? IV Therapy is used to deliver much-needed fluids to the body. And in our case, at Renew, that looks like vitamins and minerals that support your immune system, energy to recharge, recovery from too much alcohol intake the night before, and a replenish combination for the athlete.
